Version 0.8 - New Enemy & Wave Improvements
Hey everyone, Henry from Two Scoop Studio here! This week I spent some time fixing issues with the wave mechanics/spawning in anticipation of the Steam launch. Based on feedback I received, I added an enemy wave countdown so it is easier to tell what is happening, and how much longer you need to survive. I also re-balanced the wave spawning, so enemies spawn closer to the player in addition to randomly on the island.
The "baby" has been removed for now. The idea with this was that the player would have something to protect in addition to surviving. The AI for the baby was not great however, and it was not even very apparent that the player was supposed to protect it. This may be added back in the future after it is refined more. For now, I think simply trying to survive and protect yourself is more than enough.
I added a new enemy type: Demon. This is one of a few that have been in the works, others will be announced soon...
Some other fixes/changes:
- Performance optimizations
- Added jumping sound effects
- Made enemy bullets faster
- Fixed bug where timing would continue when game paused
- Removed whistling
